Anita Holford, co-editor of Music Education Works, looks at eight ways music can support young people’s wellbeing and learning.

With increased pressure on young people to ‘catch up’ after the Covid-19 pandemic, music could be just the thing to bring some balance and pleasure into their lives. It can also support learning and wellbeing in a range of important ways.

The eight ways covered are: mood, coping, confidence, expression, social intelligence, connection, learning, and resilience.
